There are 2 types of tv broadcasting networks: Open air analoge tv and Open air digital tv. For both types the installation, maintenance and exploitation of transmitter and receiving equipment for the purpose of tv broadcasting is only possible with an authorization.

TV broadcasting requires the authorization holder to also request a license for the broadcasting of programmes and other messages on television. The license includes the conditions and regulations that apply regarding the content of programmes and other communication on the respective tv broadcasting network. The general rules and regulations on the exploitation of a tv broadcasting network are established in the Ordinance for Television (P.B. 1971, no. 33).

The authorization involves the issuing of a frequency channel. Currently there is a scarcity of frequency spectrum for television broadcasting, especially for Open air analoge tv. There are frequencies available for Open air digital tv, however the availibility is also limited. Therefore, authorizations for tv broadcasting are granted subject to frequency availability.

Required documents for authorization request

In addition to the completed application form for the authorization of a TV broadcasting network, the following documents must be submitted:

• An adhesive stamp of NAF. 10.00
• An original excerpt of the certificate of registration of the Chamber of Commerce (not older than 3 months)
• A copy of the articles of incorporation of the company (LLC or PLC)
• A copy of the business permit of the company
• A copy of the shareholders’ register of the company
• A certificate of good behaviour of the director(s) (not older than 3 months)
• A business plan in case of exploitation
• A declaration of financial guarantee enclosed with the business plan
• A technical description of the project
• A graphic representation of the installation
• The geographical location of the installation
• Folders with technical information on the equipment used
