Objectives
BT&P has the following primary objective:
To advise, support, stimulate and supervise in multidisciplinary sectors with the objective of regulating the economy, legal regulation and technical regulation.
Regulating the economy:
- To be able to offer the end-user affordable prices for the best quality
Herewith the interests of the consumer and of society are safeguarded and the economy is being stimulated.
- To strengthen the competitive position of Curaçao in the Caribbean region, concentrated on each sector-related sphere of activity that is under supervision of BT&P: Telecommunications, Post, Electricity, Water, Fuel, Bitumen and Airport tariffs.
- To stimulate developments in the Telecommunications market and the market of Utilities.
Legal regulation:
- To develop a legal base for all supervisory activities.
Technical regulation:
- To improve the quality of the network infrastructure
Additionally, by attempting to attain realization of this primary objective as efficiently as possible, the continued expansion of the spheres of its supervisory function as a regulator is being enabled. Herewith BT&P aims to gradually gets closer to fulfilling a pioneering role in the field of regulation, technology and innovation.
