Seminar UPAEP in Curaçao
On 12 and 13 August 2015, the postal association Union Postal de las Américas, España y Portugal (UPAEP) held a seminar in Curaçao in preparation for the up and coming Universal Postal Congress of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) in 2016 in Istanbul, which seminar held the theme: the development of the postal valuation system.
C-Post International N.V. was responsible for the organization of this event for which delegates and representatives from the postal sector of over 19 countries were invited.
The theme of the seminar attracted much interest considering the challenges postal organizations across the world are increasingly facing as a result of, among other things, technological developments, changes in customer needs and demands and rising competition.
The objective of the seminar is to map out the current state of affairs with regard to the postal valuation system in the region.
During the seminar, the Minister of Traffic, Transportation and Environmental Planning, Mrs. Suzanne Camelia-Römer, took the opportunity to emphasize the bond between Curaçao and the development of postal entities within the UPAEP and to express her gratitude towards UPAEP for the opportunity granted to Curaçao to serve as a platform for this international event.
The findings of the seminar and the results from this and other preliminary meetings of postal organizations will be further crystallized during the Universal Postal Congress in Istanbul in 2016.
