Tariffs for electricity and water September 2015

The Bureau Telecommunication & Post (to be referred to hereinafter as: the Bureau) by means of this press release gives further information on the background of the recently adapted tariffs for water and electricity as per 1 September 2015, as resolved by the Council of Ministers. This tariff adjustment concerns the monthly adaptation of the so-called fuel clause. This is monthly adapted due to the changing prices in oil products, as well as the fluctuating scope of wind- and solar energy. The prices are established based on forecasts for the coming month combined with subsequent calculations of the preceding month.

Adaptation of the tariffs for electricity and water
The fuel clause for electricity decreases as per 1 September by an ample two cents per kWh. This means that the electricity tariff for all tariff groups decreases by an ample two cents per kWh. Thus the household tariff up to 250 kWh decreases from NAF. 0,5446 per kWh to NAF. 0,5203 per kWh, and the business tariff decreases from NAF. 0,6543 per kWh to NAF. 0,6300 per kWh.

The fuel clause for water decreases as per 1 September with approximately fifteen cents per m3. This implies that the water tariff for all tariff-groups decreases by approximately fifteen cents per m3. Thus the household tariff up to 9 m3, decreases from NAF. 7,5135 per m3 to NAF. 7,3619 per m3, and the business tariff changes from NAF. 13,0335 per m3 to NAF. 12,8819per m3.

Elucidation on new compensations
The change in the price of electricity in September is primarily the result of lower fuel prices.  In addition there is no correction worth mentioning for the month of July because of a stable production mix.

With regards to water the production figures are also stable. The fuel clause was slightly lower since it is also based on the fuel cost for electricity.
