Develop an understanding of the basics of IPv6
From 18 - 22 February 2013, the Bureau Telecommunication and Post (BTP) organized an IPv6 course. The course "Develop an understanding of the basics of IPv6, the improvements from IPv4, and methods for implementation" was fully booked and 55 people from the public and corporate sector were trained. Among those present were Internet Service Providers, the UNA, datacenters, the government, a consultancy firm and a local bank.
The instructor, Mark Hower (Global knowledge) has supported multiple IPv6 migrations in the United States and Asia and the training program also contained his lessons learned from practical experience. During the course there was a good interaction between instructor and course members. The latter were actively involved, also because they were required to carry out assignments on-the-spot and they were presented with live-demos from the instructor.
BTP aims at making huge strides in the migration process from IPv4 to IPv6 in Curaçao and it will stimulate and support the interested parties to take the required steps. For more information, see the IPv6 section on this website.
