Organization of tasks
Supervision is the core of the BT&P field of activity. It performs supervisory tasks in various sectors that are important for the community, such as telecommunication (including fixed telephony, mobile and international calls, internet, TV), post (regular post and express post/couriers), electricity, drinking water and fuels (central fuel supplier CUROIL and proprietors of gas stations).
In principle, the orientation on supervision within BT&P is two-fold: supervision on telecommunication facilities (telecommunication, including CARICERT, and post) and supervision on the energy sector (electricity, water and fuels).
The performance of the tasks within BT&P varies per sector and is dependent on the separate case-by-case mandates granted to BT&P by the government. Sometimes BT&P supervises, among other things, the provisions of proper services and affordable rates by operators (telecommunication, post, electricity and water) and in other cases, in principle only the affordability of the rates (fuels). Regardless of the nature of the tasks (full supervision on services and rates, or only supervision on rates), for each field of activity the tasks are carried out by specific supervisor experts within the BT&P, but also by experts surpassing the sector, who often operate in a variety of supervision sectors. All these experts are supported by employees within the BT&P organization, who are active within the internal business operations and who therefore render support in supervision of the operational course of business. Finally, the legal experts support the Board of Directors of the BT&P, the supervision experts, the internal business operations and the government in matters concerning policy where the BT&P is assigned to supervise.
